Getting Refunds on Unfair Bank Charges
There are an estimated 750,000 claims pending and potentially millions of customers who are unhappy with their bank and would like to reclaim unfair bank charges. This is pending a decision under appeal at the High Court and The Office of Fair Trading has however made provision for Hardship Cases although rather unhelpfully they did not state what constituted “hardship”. No doubt you would rather be near the front of queue!
Notwithstanding this, the Consumer Saving Bureau can put you in touch with an organisation that can help you potentially claim on a “hardship waiver” basis and should this fail at least you will be in the queue along with, not behind everyone else.
Part of this will involve going back over a period of 6 years through statements from start to finish (this work can be done for you), to compile your claim of which 8% interest can be added.
