Meet the Founder
Hello, I am Sue Hipperson,
I started the Consumer Savings Bureau as I was becoming increasingly concerned with the rising cost of food, fuel and energy and the profound effect of this on businesses and private individuals.
I also became aware that many households were facing rising debt and that this was having a considerable knock on effect on family relationships, I felt that there was a need for an orgainsation that could be trusted, who had people's personal interests at heart to offer clarity and guidance through the turmoil that can occur in what are very stressful situations.
In many instances these difficulties were not of their own making. It may have been because of the collapse of a business – I saw the stress and the heartache involved when this happened to my previous boss which meant laying off many staff with the potential of he and his wife losing their matrimonial home.
I have also seen people who have got into severe difficulties when they have suffered ill health, loss of a job or matrimonial breakup. All these things cause considerable heartache for all those concerned and, the sad part is, that the government or large corporations in many instances do not seem to care. They seem prepared to ride rough shod over consumers and small businesses.
This means that businesses are forced to close when for example their overdrafts are “pulled” or people lose their homes. In many instances customers have been mis-sold inappropriate products even though it was not in their interests to have these to start with.
We have introduced a range of free services, together with some optional services with member benefits, and in particular, to provide sources for products and services which although are potentially chargeable have been quality checked to ensure value for money. Over the coming months we are looking forward to introducing a whole range of services plus discount vouchers and offers.
I do hope that you find our services helpful and of interest - I would welcome your feedback!
With very best wishes
Sue Hipperson
